River Oaks Baptist School is seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to join our team as a lower school instructional coach for grades 3 - 4 beginning August 2024.
This role encompasses coaching teachers; managing curriculum and instruction across all content areas; assessing data; and coordinating budgets, supplies, and schedules. All lower school faculty are supported by an experienced divisional team devoted to developing both students and faculty, including a counselor, learning specialists, reading specialists, an assistant division head, and a division head.

This position reports to the Lower School Division Head.
Responsibilities
- Develop and update grade-level scope and sequence and curriculum in all content areas in collaboration with classroom teachers
- Research, model, and share curricular best practices by evaluating innovations and facilitating the appropriate use of technology in the classroom
- Monitor, evaluate, and enhance instruction by remaining current in instructional best practices and ensuring they are utilized in the classroom
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues across all levels and divisions
- Observe classrooms to evaluate curriculums and strategies and report summary of visits to division head
- Coordinate resources such as budgets and supplies
- Support professional growth by determining needs, suggesting opportunities, and providing professional development during in-service days, divisional meetings, and parent association meetings
- Actively participate in grade-level, divisional, and all-school team meetings
- Develop and practice cultural competence in your teaching and teamwork
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, both verbally and in writing
- Work with the Communications Office to ensure academic descriptions in all marketing materials are current
- Embrace lifelong learning and a growth mindset for adults and students alike

- Delight in teaching children in the elementary classroom

- A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience
- A minimum of two years in a curricular leadership role preferred
